Socket Outlet
NCS chose M.K Logic Plus Switched Socket Outlet's because they meet the requirements of the electrical regulations by providing dual earth to IT equipment.
RCD Spur
PowerBreaker fused spur units are used when a permanently connected item needs to be fuse and RCD protected, but it isn't feasible to be wired directly back to the distribution board. For IT circuits this is ideal as they are low load but still require RCD protection. Ideal for IT circuits, low load but with RCD protection.

Containment
Conduit and Trunking
As a company we had to decide which of the white PVC trunking / conduit manufacturers offered the most comprehensive range, allied with high quality (colour not fading or becoming brittle). We found that Marshall Tufflex has a good track record over the past 20 years. This is why we use Marshall Tufflex as our preferred manufacturer.
Mono Plus Trunking
We have found the mono-plus dado trunking (3 compartment) is ideal for data installation due to it’s construction, utilising only one central lid. This reduces the possibility of cables being pinched on installation which would reduce the performance of data cables.
Portable Appliance Testing
P.A.T
Reported figures show that 15% of serious injuries caused by electricity occur in schools and colleges. This level of accidents illustrates the need for continual vigilance whenever electricity is been used. Headteachers and others responsible for the safety of pupils and staff need to ensure that electrical equipment is regularly maintained and electrical hazards are identified and dealt with promptly. Most problems with electrical equipment can be detected by a visual inspection. However, some serious faults cannot be detected in this way, particularly lack of continuous earths, and for IT equipment this earth is essential to safety. A Portable Appliance Test will verify correct operation of appliances and should be carried out at annually. Extension leads are classed as a portable appliance and as such are not exempt from this test and should be avoided where possible.
